HEAVEN OR HELL. TRUE STORY.

My name is Maxima Zambrano Mora and we attend the “Casa de Oracion” Church in El Empalme. We were fasting for 15 days, and crying out to God. My daughter Angelica also joined us. During those fifteen days of fasting, I was able to see beyond the natural, which I’ve never done before. We were praying and fasting at the retreat, and even continued praying and crying out at home, waiting for God to speak to us. The Lord gave us much encouragement. Because of our trials, we were often ready to give up, but the Lord was there to help us. He gave us Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you know not.” My daughter had been emphatically requesting that from Lord, though I didn’t know it at the time.
Angelica (The daughter):
My name is Angelica Elizabeth Zambrano Mora. I am 18, and study at the “Colegio José María Velazco Ibarra”, here at El Cantón, El Empalme, Ecuador. I first accepted Christ when I was 12, but I told myself, “None of my friends were evangelicals and I felt strange amongst them”, so I walked away from God, and lived a bad, terrible life. But God pulled me out of there. On, my 15th Birthday, I was reconciled to the Lord, but I was still double-minded. The Bible says, “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways” (James 1:8) and I was one of those persons. My dad would say, “You don’t have to be like that, it looks awful, it’s wrong,” but I would reply, “This is the way I am, and how I want to be, nobody has to tell me how I should be, nor what I should do, nor how I should dress, or behave.” He would respond, “God is going to deal with you. He is going to change you.”

A 10-year-old boy approached his mom from work. He asked her if how much money she earns everyday. She said, “$1000”. The boy asked her if he could borrow $400. His mom was shocked and scolded him instead. The boy went to his room and cried. His mom realized that she overacted and decided to give his son what he asked. The boy stopped crying, took the money from his mom, and took $1600 bills from his piggy bank and said, “Now I have $2000… Can I have you for 2 days mommy…?”

“Daddy, put me on your shoulders and let me touch Grandma’s hand!” the little girl said.
Daddy bent down, turned her around, and lifted her high above his head until she was safely positioned on his shoulders.
“I can see tomorrow up here, Daddy,” she said.
“You can?” he asked. “What does it look like?” he questioned her.
“Just like today, but more pretty!” she giggled.
“Now hold on, Jenny. I’m going up on top of this hill. When I tell you to, stretch your arms way up and you can touch her hand.”
He carefully walked up on top of the small hill just behind the bench I was sitting on. The softball fans sit there each evening during the spring and summer watching the local players compete. But today this hill served a higher purpose.
For this is a spot where memories are made. This is a moment between parent and child that gets filed away in memories for tomorrows yet to come. Perhaps when this young girl will hold her babe high upon her shoulders and together they will reach for Grandpa’s hand, just like when she was a child.
It was a beautiful Sunday morning. People were filling the church to its full capacity! As they entered, each were given a bulletin filled with announcements, topic of today’s sermon, what songs they would sing and who to pray for.
At the end of the line stood an older man. His clothes were filthy and you could tell that he had not bathed in days. His face was covered with whiskers, for he had not shaved for a very long time. When he reached the usher, he removed his tattered old brown hat in respect. His hair was long, dirty, and a tangled mess. He had no shoes on his feet, and wore only soiled black socks to cover the sores upon his feet. The Usher looked at him turning up his nose at the old man and said, “Uh, I’m sorry sir, but I’m afraid we can’t let you in. You will distract the congregation and we don’t allow anyone to disrupt our service. I’m afraid you’ll have to leave.”
Horror gripped the heart of the World War 1 soldier as he saw his lifelong friend fall in battle. Caught in a trench with continuous gunfire whizzing over his head, the soldier asked his lieutenant if he might go out into the “no man’s land” between the trenches to bring his fallen comrade back.
“You can go,” said the lieutenant, “but i don’t think it will be worth it. Your friend is probably dead and you may throw your life away.” The lieutenant’s advice didn’t matter, and the soldier went anyway. Miraculously he managed to reach his friend, hoist him onto his shoulder and bring him back to their company’s trench. As the two of them tumbled in together to the bottom of the trench, the officer checked the wounded soldier, and then looked kindly at his friend.
“I told you it wouldn’t be worth it,” he said. “Your friend is dead and you are mortally wounded.” “It was worth it, though, sir,” said the soldier. “What do you mean; worth it?” responded the Lieutenant. “Your friend is dead” “YES, Sir” the private answered. “But it was worth it because when i got to him, he was still alive and i had the satisfaction of hearing him say, “JIM…….., I KNEW YOU’D COME.” Many times in life, whether a thing is worth doing or not, really depends on how u look at it. Take up all your courage and do something your heart tells you to do so that you may not regret not doing it later in your life..”May each and every one of you be blessed with the company of TRUE FRIENDS.” “A true friend is one who walks in, when the rest of the world walks out.” War doesn’t determine who’s right. War only determines who’s left.
One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so she brought him a glass of milk. He drank slowly and then asked, “How much do I owe you?” “You don’t owe me anything”, she replied. “Mother has taught us never to accept pay for kindness”. He said….”Then thank you from my heart”. As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit. Years later, that young woman became critically ill. The local doctor was baffled. They finally sent her to the big city where they called in a specialist to study her rear disease. Doctor Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town where she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his Doctor’s gown, he went in to see her. He recognized her face at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do all he can to save her life. From that day, he gave special attention to that case. After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly asked the business office to pass the bill to him for approval. He looked at it and then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to the woman to her room. She feared to open it for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally, she looked and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words….. “Paid in full with one glass of milk” (Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly.
A little boy was spending his Saturday morning playing in his sandbox. He had with him his box of cars and trucks, his plastic pail, and a shiny, red plastic shovel. In the process of creating roads and tunnels in the soft sand, he discovered a large rock in the middle of the sandbox. The lad dug round the rock, managing to dislodge it from the dirt. With no little bit of struggle, he pushed and nudged the rock across the sandbox by using his feet. (He was a very small boy and the rock was huge.)
When the boy got the rock to the edge of the sandbox, however, he found that he couldn’t roll it up and over the little wall. Determined, the little boy shoved, pushed, and pried, but every time he thought he had made some progress, the rock tipped and then fell back into the sandbox.
The little boy grunted, struggled, pushed, shoved — but his only reward was to have the rock roll back, smashing his chubby fingers. Finally he burst into tears of frustration.
All this time the boy’s father watched from his living room window as the drama unfolded. At the moment the tears fell, a large shadow fell across the boy and the sandbox. It was the boy’s father. Gently but firmly he said, “Son, why didn’t you use all the strength that you had available?”
Defeated, the boy sobbed back, “But I did, Daddy, I did! I used all the strength that I had!”
“No, son,” corrected the father kindly. “You didn’t use all the strength you had. You didn’t ask me.”
With that the father reached down, picked up the rock, and removed it from the sandbox.
Do you have “rocks” in your life that need to be removed? Are you discovering that you don’t have what it takes to lift them? There is One who is always available to us and willing to give us the strength we need. When we are broken in spirit and our strength is spent, we can turn to our Savior Jesus.
“When we are weak and in despair,
Our mighty Lord is near;
He gives us strength and hope,
With Him, all things we can cope.”
